News business Humble Bundle: Everything for Clubs will end soon, despite grumbling from players

Last April, the Humble Bundle platform caused a stir when it announced it would replace its famous donation sliders with defined amounts. In response, the platform, acquired by IGN in 2017, said it would consider player feedback to find an alternative.

However, things are not that simple in this case. An initial test phase was conducted in March, but during the announcement on the platform’s blog, Humble Bundle faced violent reactions from angry players.

Regret this inconclusive initial approach and the lack of communication around the testing process, Humble Bundle has announced that it will consider feedback from the community in order to possibly find a solution.

During testing earlier this year, we heard your feedback that deciding where your money goes through the sliders is a big part of why you choose Humble. The community also shared some great ideas for advancing the sliders that we considered throughout the process.

But given the platform’s choices, no compromise was found sinceHumble Bundle is in fact preparing to set up the defined amounts instead of the famous sliders in the “Pay-what-you-want” packages.

Before that, nothing prevents you from donating the entire price of the package to clubs and other charities or vice versa. But that was before: Now a fixed percentage between 15 and 30% is raised and donated to charities.

Humble Bundle chooses a payment with every purchase rather than the total generosity of the players. The platform also explains the decision that motivated that choice.

Moving to cursors allows us to keep investing in more engaging content to keep growing the Humble community, which will ultimately lead to more charitable donations. We will continue to create more ways to give back, such as our 100% charity packages.

100% charity packages that have shown some effectiveness in the past, like the Humble COVID-19 Bundle. At the moment, Humble Bundle offers a bundle up centered on the open world, where you can get your hands on Kingdom Come: Deliverance, among other things.
