We know that the Internet is a place where priceless jewels are hidden, but what I have stumbled upon today has completely stunned me. in what universe Stan Lee dressed up as Revolver Ocelot from Metal Gear Solid to give an award to Hideo Kojima? For everyone’s fortune, in ours.
This incredible event took place during the Gphoria 2004 awards gala. We are talking about an annual video game ceremony where awards were given to great works between 2003 and 2009. Something similar to The Game Awards, but with the style of the time Being able to see advances of video games, musical performances and surprises of all kinds.
At the event almost 20 years ago, both actress Carmen Electra and guitarist Dave Navarro appear before the cameras characterized as characters from Metal Gear Solid. Electra is reminiscent of Sniper Wolf, while Navarro is more difficult to identify, as we are stunned by his display of spy skills. Once in front of the microphone, a sequence takes place that has rescued the Twitter user Marco and that you can see here below in full.
Let’s go in parts. The award given is to a legend of the industry, in this case Hideo Kojima. As a special guest, Gphoria chose Stan Lee himself, one of the greatest comic book artists of all time. Not content with this, they made Lee disguise himself as the characteristic Revolver Ocelot, one of Solid Snake’s main enemies.
“Revolver Ocelot has arrived!” an excited Lee exclaims, making way for Kojima. Here is another unique moment, since we have rarely been able to see the developer speaking in English and he does so not only to thank the award, but to ensure that he will keep making video games until he dies. Of course we believe it, because the Japanese is still at the bottom of the canyon.
