2022 has been a year of emptiness. Elden Ring took 200 hours of my life and the desire to play any other game. God of War Ragnarök has earned a very special place in my heart and has once again left me wanting to play. What game do you play after experiencing these two works of art?

Carried away by nostalgia, I thought of going back to Elder Ring, but there is a problem: I completed the map 100% and I only have two trophies missing that correspond to two endings. To be honest with you: I’m lazy to start an NG+ and lose all my discoveries. And so?
I return to the Middle Lands of the Elden Ring thanks to this Minecraft mod
This week I wanted to resume my travels through the alternate universes of Minecraft. I remind you that so far we have been to Azeroth from World of Warcraft, The Seven Kingdoms from Game of Thrones and Middle Earth from The Lord of the Rings. Not to mention the fortress inspired by the castle of Laputa!
Now I make a new stop on my travels in the Middle Lands the Elden Ring. El against Elden World recreates some of the most incredible locations in the FromSoftware game. If you’ve played, you know that almost any view could be a wallpaper. The mod is not far behind, although I must say that not so faithful like the previous ones.
The Elden Ring Middlelands looks good anywhere, even in Minecraft. And don’t think that the mod only recreates some surface locations, some of the many underground ones too! Best of all, it’s not just a construction mod. His description reveals enormous ambition:
Six square kilometers of open world in Minecraft! More than 20 different dungeons and castles. More than 50 different weapons! More than 30 different armor sets… And more than 15 hours of main story! Follow your compass to beat the main story.
I’ve seen a lot of the locations, but I’ll admit that I didn’t complete even half of the mod. Also, I had some problems to install it (a classic, you know) and I started my adventure a little tired. It was worth it anyway!
I love the Middlelands in any of its forms with all my heart.
I could spend hours talking about the locations of Elder Ring and how they have been recreated in this mod. They don’t have as good a fidelity as other mods, but it would take years to make it as faithful as I expected. The city of Azula’s lighthouse It is a perfect example: it captures its essence and epicness, but obviously it is very difficult to be more detailed.
Higher up you can take a look at the entrance of the Academy of Raya Lucaria. I find it fascinating how the mod manages to achieve the settings: the night looks amazing in the academy, while the sunsets and sunrises are spectacular in Azula’s lighthouse. For obvious reasons the tornado is not there and this gives it a plus of stillness and serenity.
Advancing through the world I found many of the villages that dot the map of the Intermediate Lands. Each one usually has its own story in the original game, while in the mod they serve as transit sites and mere places of interest for the most part.
You go through the villages and forests, enjoying the world and killing enemies… and suddenly you come across this savagery. I can’t locate this location. It looks like a part of Stormshroud Keep next to a Rune Tower. It could also be the eastern part of Leyndell. In any case, the construction is simply amazing.
At one point in the night, I decided to go down to the underground areas to see what they were like. I swear on Malenia and Ranni that I wholeheartedly support the team that created this mod. Take a look at how the lower areas look! It obviously doesn’t feature the same level design, but it’s certainly a great tribute to the Middle Lands underground.
And the Golden Tree? the best for the end
The trailer for the mod shows it to you and you think you are ready to see it because you have already seen it in Elden Ring. No matter. You’re not prepared. In the original game or in Minecraft, this climb towards the arena of Morgott, King of Omens y Godfrey, First Lord of the Circle/Hoarah Loux is incredible.
I don’t even want to imagine the number of hours it will have cost to do the Aureo Tree in Minecraft. I couldn’t climb that high in my game, but the building rises above the clouds and the top of the tree is also built. You can see one of the towers on the left for comparison. It’s just amazing!
If you’re like me and don’t know what to play (until Evil West comes out on November 22), listen to me and try this mod. It doesn’t matter if you don’t complete the story or don’t see all the locations. If you know how to appreciate the construction work, you are going to fall on your ass several times when you see how huge the constructions are. It doesn’t matter that it isn’t totally faithful because it retains the original size and beauty of FromSoftware.
