The sequel to Buffy takes place in a production 22 years after it airs, and its original star Sarah Michelle Gellar will surely feel its weight.
Earlier this month, the Restart/Revival/Sequel Series vs. Vampire Slayer Buffy finally started on Hulu with the pilot’s order, which was obviously a big deal, considering how huge it was when the series was. Still yes. So of course, fans have high expectations and talking to people, it’s obvious that Sarah Michelle Gellar is very aware of their reaction to the news. The actor does describe the reboot as “exciting,” but she says she wishes “a better word than overwhelming. It’s heart-warming, exciting, and at the same time incredibly disturbing. ”

Gellar went on to explain that it was “disturbing” because “you have to do it right.” Fortunately, in her eyes, it was the right team that could do this. “I think we have this team, it’s legendary, from Chloé Zhao to Zucks [Nora and Lilla Zuckerman]Gail Berman. I think people will impress. More than her.
While we don't know the exact plot details of the new Buffy series, we do know that Gellar will retake her role and serve as executive producer for the series. Interestingly, Dolly Parton resumed production through her production company Sandollar Entertainment, because yes, the same company produced the originals. Strange! But of course it's very interesting. The show has no release date yet, it's just a pilot order, but it's expected to be in the series, so it's certainly not too long until Buffy is back on our screens.
