The new Lord of the Rings movie, The Hunt for Gollum, is causing a lot of excitement among fans of JRR Tolkien’s work. The possibility of seeing our beloved characters on the big screen once again fills us with joy, and one of the most anticipated by the public is Gandalf the Grey.
About this they have asked Sir Ian McKellenactor who plays this legendary character, in an interview with the English media The Timeswhere he commented that he would be willing to return as long as one condition is met: “If I’m alive, yes.”
Laughing, McKellen explained that his only condition is to be alive by then. Although it may sound like a joke, we must remember that the British actor is already 85 years old, so his time in the world of acting could be coming to an end, either due to retirement or health issues.
The Hunt for Gollum seeks to bring back great characters from the saga. Viggo Mortensen has already revealed that he would collaborate on this new film as long as the script is coherent and his appearances do not require so much physical effort, since at his age he prefers less demanding roles. The Hunt for Gollum will hit theaters in 2026.
