Google offers the well-known freemailer Gmail, but Apple is also involved in this market segment. The email client Apple Mail is preinstalled on its own products such as iPhones and iPads.
You can link this to several other email accounts from other providers and then you will receive all messages sent to those addresses in Apple Mail. But Apple also has its own real free mailer: iCloud Mail.
This is seamlessly connected to Apple Mail. You also enjoy the advantage that no advertising is displayed. This is different for some other products and is therefore an advantage of iCloud Mail.
The service is free and you have five gigabytes of cloud storage at your disposal. That’s not a lot when it’s not just about emails, but also about cloud storage for all your videos and photos. If you really just want to write and receive messages, the storage space should be enough.
There’s more of everything if you pay
You get more storage and functions such as concealing your own email address if you use the paid version Tariff iCloud+ chooses. You can get this from 0.99 dollars per month. In order to use iCloud Mail, you need an Apple account.

Nice simple design
If you log in to iCloud Mail, you will first see the overview of your iCloud. From there you can quickly get to your email inbox.
As we know it from Apple, iCloud Mail is also clearly presented, beautifully simple and reduced to the bare essentials. It’s really nice that there are no advertisements here either. On the left in the column you can see the most important areas such as the inbox, VIP, spam or the trash.

Not just for iPhone and iPad
Apple Mail is an email client from the US company that not only works on iPhone and iPad. In the test we were mostly positive, but then this error message appears.
We write emails quite intuitively, attach files (maximum 20 megabytes), send them and after a few seconds the messages are reliably sent to the recipient. We also quickly create folders and organize emails there. A search function is also available. Apple’s iCloud Mail works.
Security
The S/MIME method, which uses an asymmetric system, is used for encryption. However, you have to install a corresponding certificate, writes Apple. There is also two-factor authentication (2FA).
We like that Apple allows you to create three alias email addresses even with free access. You could use this if you don’t want to give away your real email address.
Top im Apple-Universum
Apple fans are used to native apps working and syncing across all their devices. This is no different with iCloud Mail, as the service is connected to Apple Mail.

If you use other devices, it becomes a little less pleasant. Of course, you can log in to the iCloud website in the browser on your Windows PC or Android phone, but there can be no talk of an ideal integration.
Use iCloud Mail with Android and Gmail
For use on an Android smartphone, you can create an app-specific password from Apple. This is intended for apps that were not developed by Apple.
