Disney isn’t making a live-action Frozen, but if it were to, it seems like all it would have to do is call Anya Taylor-Joy.
A live-action Frozen movie seems inevitable, doesn’t it? It’s not like Disney is opposed to doing live-action in new movies, but it did it with Moana, which came out right after Frozen, so you have to wonder why Disney wouldn’t try to adapt its hit. My best guess is that live-action toys wouldn’t sell as well as the animated version, but it could be something more silly, given Disney’s history of making confusing choices. If Disney does eventually decide to make a live-action movie, though, they won’t have to think too hard when it comes to casting Elsa, since Taylor-Joy is already in the running for the role of Furiosa and Princess Peach herself anyway (even if she’s not currently competing against anyone else).

Taylor-Joy told Vogue Hong Kong (via Entertainment Weekly) that she “would love to be in a musical because I’m kind of addicted to hard work. I love climbing an impossible mountain. The idea of being able to sing, dance, and act at the same time really excites me.” She continued, “I think Frozen would be awesome. Shooting ice cubes out of your hands would be fun. Plus, you’d be the favorite at every kid’s birthday party. All my brothers and sisters have kids now, so I hope they’ll be able to say, ‘My auntie is Elsa.’ That would be cool.”
Her hair does work well for this movie, even though they’ll probably give her a wig, and she’s a decent actress so it probably won’t flop. Now just waiting for Disney to decide if it really needs to make a billion dollars.
Last month, Disney also finally confirmed when you’ll be able to watch Frozen 3 (yes, they’re making a third (and possibly fourth) installment), but you’ll still have to wait a while.
