I recently asked the Fallout 5 community what they personally want to see from Fallout 5, whenever it releases. All of their ideas were really cool and got me thinking about what I – another Fallout fan – might also want from the game. So, here’s another takeaway:

Picture the scene. You are an anonymous member of a caravan wandering the highway. The leader of the group—you know, usually the kind of used car salesman who hoards bottle caps and might “accidentally” sell you a malfunctioning laser pistol—is telling you how much he’s looking forward to it Be able to have a drink and relax when you arrive at your destination.
As Ronto appears in the distance, he says, “It’s a dangerous place right now, but well worth the trip for those willing to go. Life has never been easy, even now that the world has begun to recover a little from nuclear It’s the end of the world, but if you all make it, things will work out.”
Of course, they won’t.
As you enter the city, you’ll see a patrol of soldiers in power armor with gleaming bodywork that resembles pre-war cars, flanked by what looks like a cross between an SUV and a tank, and a group of ghouls. And humans spray-painting “We were never like our cousins” on the walls of collapsed buildings – you were ambushed. Just before he is dragged into an alley by some soldiers in shabby gray gear, the caravan leader hands you a piece of paper and tells you and your fellow caravans to run.
You don’t quite escape, and then you get a blow to the head, fallout 5subtitle the shadow of a nationit really started.
When you – a human, ghoul or super mutant with a range of preset or custom backstories and basic skill sets to choose from – wake up, you are welcomed into your home by the ghouls who nurse you back to health. New home. Before about 200 bombs were dropped, a few years ago, your area was Toronto, a ravaged community. Once Canada’s largest metropolis, it was ruthlessly annexed by a resource-hungry United States fighting a war it would never win. Now, it’s a city deeply divided and besieged.
The areas that made up Old Toronto itself were divided into two groups. The redeveloped high-rises in the downtown and financial district are populated by the city’s privileged residents, whose families survived in some of the relatively few vaults built in Canada before the bombs were dropped. It is surrounded by various other neighborhoods, stretching from the harbor on the shores of Lake Ontario in the south to downtown in the north. These areas are filled with dilapidated buildings that have been converted into unregulated industrial sites and businesses alike, and are mostly occupied by hordes of ghouls – the Canadians don’t have access to the vaults and have to make do with shelters of their own construction.
Many of the latter either protested against the United States’ annexation of Canada before the Great War or, remembering the violence, accused the United States of its role in destroying the world and invading their homes. Meanwhile, many descendants of shelter residents living in the inner city don’t feel all that resentful toward their southern neighbors — especially It was given that some of them were descendants of American families who fled to Canada after being turned away from American coffers.
Fortunately for both sides, a common enemy has long motivated them to maintain an uneasy truce. Descendants of Toronto’s pre-war U.S. military occupiers have emerged from the region’s most well-stocked vaults, both in terms of resources and weapons, which they discovered in an area formerly occupied by Fort York, to engage in a battle with their city’s residents. A long war. Outnumbered and unable to fight an urban guerrilla war of ghouls who knew every corner of the city, these military scions were ultimately forced to take refuge at Pearson Airport. This is where they currently live, beaten down but not completely broken.
If the city hadn’t been under siege by the other two factions, they might not have been such a big problem for the people of Ronto. One was an army invading from the southwest, fueled by the renewed strength of the American automobile industry. Led by a large three-man council of traders, the United Motor City Corporation was dedicated to amassing wealth in order to rebuild America on a capitalist model utilizing more sustainable resources (the ones they were inventing in their factories).
Another is that the vast exodus from Ottawa, now recaptured as the capital of a new nation—one perfectly suited to this post-apocalyptic world—are “those who remain.” They are a loose collective of ghouls, mutated humans, and even some rare super mutants created during experiments on the Alaskan frontier, all of whom have wandered in search of a community that will accept them. Here, led by a ghoul who was very familiar with Lonto and its current leader, they found that community. The organization’s motto is Toronto’s one-time motto: “Diversity is our strength,” and its ability to quickly attract new employees backs that up.
Armed with scandalous knowledge of the past of the ghoul responsible for brokering peace, who currently prevents the people of Lonto itself from dividing themselves against each other, you and – unless you want to wander alone in Fallout tradition – a group of former merchants Your team mates will be tasked with taking down this powder keg so you can get out of Lonto alive. Choices and consequences will be paramount, as will your relationships with each faction. Conversations and quests will take many different approaches, allowing and encouraging you to take advantage of your character’s expertise and traits.
Combat will be very similar to any modern, action-oriented Fallout game, with hordes of enemies posing the biggest challenge in the more settled areas – the verticality of the environment often comes into play too – and more Many wild radioactive beasts roam the land. Underground areas and areas outside the confines of the recast city.
Anywhere outside of safe settlements or faction locations, you can build a customizable camp with your party and get to know them all – no one is strictly designed to be a faction representative, they’re all just people trying to survive in waste. They have their own unique quest lines and perspectives on situations you encounter. Doing this every night is the easiest way to restorative sleep without wasting any valuable (if still highly effective) stimulants.
Beyond this, there are many properties you can buy or rent and decorate them to your liking, but if you want to build your own base or settlement from scratch, you’ll need to head out to wild areas in the suburbs outside of the city – and prepare It is better to build a large number of defense facilities. Especially since your gear will degrade, cheaper/less complex items can be repaired in a basic way on site, while more complex items can only be repaired while camping or at home.
Details aside, the point is this.
In Fallout 5, you know a secret. What you do with this powerful information will control exactly how you and your friends get out of trouble, and change how or if a country whose identity was forcibly erased before the pre-war world itself was erased can recover from the war. die.
At least, that’s what I probably would do if I were in Bethesda’s shoes. It might be a while before we see what Fallout 5 finally looks like, but hopefully it will surprise us whenever it arrives.
