This will be the final installment starring Harrison Ford.. “It’s time for me to grow up,” the 81-year-old actor confided on set CNN. In this latest adventure, the archaeologist, now feeling the burden of years, embarks on a tour at the suggestion of his goddaughter, Helena (Phoebe Waller-Bridge). Your goal is to find the mysterious Archimedes dial before Jürgen Voller (Mads Mikkelsen) and his henchmen. This artifact is said to have spatio-temporal properties that allow the great evil to revive Hitler.
The end for Indy but not for Indiana Jones?
It is therefore safe and certain that after 5 feature films, Harrison Ford will no longer wear the fedora of the famous treasure hunter… However, this does not mean the end of the Indiana Jones license. As reported The Direct : in a podcast byWeekly entertainment, Kathleen Kennedy, head of Lucasfilm, has expressed an interest in television shows. “This is Harrison’s last participation. That’s how we see the ‘Indy’ franchise (…) I mean, if we were to do something, it might be later TV series, but we’re not going to replace Indiana Jones.”

Indiana Jones could therefore follow the same path as National Teasure (Benjamin Gates in VF), another franchise created by Mickey’s father, which was the subject of a TV series on Disney+ thirteen years after the release of the second feature film. But also the trace of one or more other feature films comes into consideration. In a recent interview with diversitynotes Kathleen KennedyA film about Helena Shaw is quite possible, but that there was no ongoing discussion on the subject. On our side, the character Phoebe Waller-Bridge in the Dial of Destiny (we’ve seen it before) cites a notable lack of writing. Her only motivation – money – doesn’t make her particularly lovable… and her on-screen performance doesn’t feel like passing the torch at all.
