While everyone is talking about inZOI, the big competitor to The Sims, a leak reveals the unexpected return of a game that mixes the Maxis license with a Nintendo franchise.
inZOI steals the spotlight from The Sims with the release of its free demo on Steam. This serious Korean competitor is enough to scare people as it seems to perform better than its role model on all levels. The character editor is ultra-advanced and technically speaking, we are in a completely different world. The developers of inZOI are aiming for something much more realistic and impressive. In this fight is a series that, to everyone’s surprise, could return as early as 2024.
A new Sims game discovered before its time
Even if inZOI puts stars in the eyes of life simulation fans, The Sims 4 is far from dead. Maxis and Electronic Arts’ flagship game boasts tens of millions of active players and a very solid fan base. For example, a major update 1.108.349.1020 was deployed this month to fix the issues caused by the latest Amour Fou DLC. Available since July 25, 2024, this expansion is just the latest in a long line, as we’ve seen through recent leaks. Speaking of leaks, the return of an unexpected game would have been leaked and its release would be closer than ever.
MySimsdoes that ring a bell? For those who missed it, it’s a spin-off of The Sims, which had its heyday on Nintendo consoles like the DS and Wii, although there were versions on other platforms as well. The publisher at the time held both MySims Skyheroes and MySims Agents in high regard. Generally speaking, there’s an audience on Metacritic for this spin-off, which is also inspired by Animal Crossing.
Now we know that according to German retailer Vitrex, the return of this spin-off of The Sims was planned 19 November 2024…at least on Nintendo Switch. A sheet for a MySims game priced at $49.99 has been posted online. At the moment it’s difficult to say if it’s a port, a remake, a reboot or even a real leak.
