Everyone knows how bad Sony's Spider-Man-less Spider-Verse is, but the director of Kraven the Hunter thinks you should give his movie a try.
venom. Morbius. Mrs. Webb. They all have three things in common: they're both related to Spider-Man, they're both made by Sony, and they're both kind of pants (well, if you ask me, Venom is good or bad, but for the purposes of this, we'll keep using it). Everyone knew they weren't very good, including J.C. Chandor, the director of the upcoming Kraven the Hunter, another movie about a Spider-Man villain that doesn't seem to be reprising everyone's favorite Spider-Man. In an interview with ComicBook, Chandor admitted that the rest of his works were poorly received, while asking fans to continue watching his work.

“I don't want to get too into the nitty-gritty of it, but I will say this: For me as a filmmaker, my number one goal, especially, is that, frankly, over the last few years, you've An insight into how in this world…some fans, a lot of fans, are upset about certain decisions and certain outcomes. [of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe],” Cheadle said.
“Then, other movies have been hugely successful. So the success rate has been mixed. Chandor went on to say that he thinks fans will “realize that we've done everything we can to give them a very interesting story. When the movie is over, you'll see that a lot of things could have happened. But my goal is to isolate Our movie, protect it and tell a damn good story, and then we have the opportunity to do a lot of interesting things.”
What are those fun things? It's literally anyone's guess, but presumably they're assuming the movie will do well from the get-go and we'll just have to wait and see if that happens.
In a few weeks, Kraven the Hunter will be released on December 13th.
