Show yourselves, you beautiful builders! Anyone who wants to build pretty cities in Anno should prick up their ears now. The first competition is currently running on the Anno Union, the winner of which can contribute their own ornament for Anno 117. Beautiful builders in particular will certainly place ornaments on a large scale again and it would be only too nice if if one of them comes from your own idea.

Design your own statue

Who would have expected anything else! Of course The first ornament for Anno 117 will be a Roman statueUbisoft Mainz has provided a small template for the competition, which fans can now use to their heart’s content. All you have to do is complete the silhouette of a statue and then send this work of art to Ubisoft. With a good idea, a little skill and a little luck, your work will be chosen to appear as an ornament in the game.

It is also sufficient if you just use the silhouette as a basis and add further details. For example, nothing stops you from putting a magnificent helmet on your statue’s head. The only restriction is that your statue should fit into Roman antiquity in the broadest sense. A requirement that the team itself does not adhere to in its examples:

If you are already feeling like you are free, you can download the template now and start tinkering. All you have to do is click on this link here. And of course you should follow the rules set by Ubisoft:

  • Deadline for submission is July 14 at 23:59.
  • Everyone can submit two pictures.
  • You can paint both digitally and with real pens.
  • Thematically it should fit with Ancient Rome.
  • Submit the files as .png or .jpg.
  • Proposals are submitted via email to [email protected].
  • AI may not be used to create it.
  • Contributions must not infringe any copyright.

Once your picture has been submitted, it will go into the selection process. The development team will then look through all the submissions and select five favorites. The community can then vote from July 22 to 28 and actively decide which ornament will actually appear in Anno 117.

We don’t want to discourage you, but your submissions should at least be better than ours:

A work that even overshadows the great Michelangelo and his David.

My colleague Martin suggested the following picture as an ornament. Very chic! But somehow it looks familiar to us.

As you can see, the competition is already very fierce! But maybe you will manage to design an even more impressive statue. It’s definitely worth a try! If you want to help with the development of Anno 117 without having to do any artistic work, you can of course still give feedback. The best way to do this is to use the official Discord channel.
