iGamesNews The Best Gaming Podcast Ever – Episode 5: The Best Games You’ve Got For Odd Reasons

episode, Games, gaming, igamesnews, odd, Podcast, reasons, youve

Greetings again to readers. I will not lie. I’m struggling the fifth time I try to write some general publicity about this podcast without making it the most boring thing imaginable. But hey, ho, iGamesNews The best gaming podcast ever Comeback, episode 5. This week I feared we would end up talking about how Steve lent the GBA’s Advance Wars off the road, but we quickly became a bright spot on the local police radar. That’s right, it’s time to get the best game for a strange reason. Not the best title, I admit, but stick with it.

“What is iGamesNews’s best gaming podcast ever?” you ask, presumably because you read what I wrote, not because you really wanted to. It’s really simple, so listen up and ask no more: every week the three of us have to present our pick of the best games that fit the show’s title (this week it has to be the game we think is great but through weird way into our property). Then our host/judge Jim Trinka will use his complete lack of objectivity to announce the winner and piss off at least one of us – probably me.

Each episode of the Best Games Ever Podcast runs around 30 minutes. We have a handful of things to talk about, and we don’t take random tangents to the latest video game news (unless it’s somehow relevant to the game and story being discussed). We feel that 30 minutes is the perfect length. If we were broadcasting live and asking you to pay for your tickets, we would of course extend the time, but we might take the easy option and slyly put multiple best games into one show. clever.

Hopefully you’ll find room for 30 minutes in your podcast listening plan. If not, cut one of the dull ones. Do you really need 12 shows about tidying up, or a show about talking to the artist who painted all the knockoff art onto the fairground rides? Fair enough, this sounds great. But you can get rid of one of them.

now it’s right. Check out iGamesNews’s The Best Games Ever Podcast on Apple Podcasts and subscribe. Or listen on Spotify. It’s even on YouTube if that’s your thing. Be sure to let us know what you think of the show – if this is your first time listening, come back and listen to the previous episodes. They’re not hot topics at least, so go wild.

We’ve included some details on the show’s content below (if you want a refresher for a great, thoughtful post before heading over to the comments), so if you want to avoid spoilers, don’t scroll through this rather interesting post Suggestive pose man (friends supporting iGamesNews, People Make Games, on Patreon).

The Best Game You’ll Get For Odd Reasons – Crimestoppers Edition

This is the subject of episode five of iGamesNews’s Best Gaming Podcast Ever. Here’s a rundown of who chose what.

Tom – Sam and Max Hit the Road (1993)

Point and Clink adventure games were all the rage in the early ’90s. LucasArts is at the highest end of its craft, knocking out classic after classic, and yet another slam dunk in this quirky adventure of the “Liberty Police” duo. Not only one of the best games of its kind, but one of the best games of all time for good reason, surely this piece of video game history has ended the competition?

Alex – Perfect Darkness (2000)

It’s hard to believe that Perfect Dark was released in 2000. By then the Dreamcast was on its way to failure (sad eyes), and the PS2 was just around the corner. Nintendo is still happy to release Rare’s classic sci-fi FPS on the N64, though it has its own successor, the GameCube, coming the following year. As the successor to the much-loved GoldenEye, Perfect Dark has a lot going for it, and for the most part, developer Rare absolutely smashes it.

James – Metal Gear Solid 2 (2001)

Who can forget seeing Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty for the first time? It was a big moment for the PS2, and it all but cemented Kojima’s status as the top creator he knows today. The game itself brought a lot of surprises, some of which weren’t well-received by fans, of course, but overall, MGS2 is considered one of the greatest games of all time.

Let us know which game you’d choose, and if you agree that Jim has completely cheated. If you like this podcast, please subscribe and leave a comment saying how great it is and tell all your friends. Post a tweet about it, post it on Facebook, open the podcast page on the laptop screen of your local tech store.

Come back in a week for the best games and people who know now will think you’ve made up for it.
