In my last year of elementary school, the entire 6th grade came together to create a time capsule. This is nothing new, I’m sure. No doubt, stepping on precious artifacts from a bygone era, it is now nearly impossible to navigate the school realm. But, the point is, we’re trying to put together a package that kids of the future will see someday (probably levitating boots, levitating cars, levitating food, and levitating dogs), so they can appreciate the wonderful world we’ve lived in.
I have a somewhat hazy memory of the exact details of what was included, but there was definitely a troll with bright orange hair. There’s a sponge football (useful!), some braided thread, a pack of pickled onion Space Raider chips (best before the capsules are uncovered), and a bike reflector Frosties cereal pack that you’re in. Perfect example of all early 90s childhood, I think you’ll agree.
Unfortunately, everyone in sixth grade didn’t have the space to donate items, but since I was undoubtedly the most popular and brightest kid in school at the time, I had the opportunity to donate items.
I already loved football at that stage, but I had to think outside the box given the rather ridiculous and stupid “sort of used football” that others had thrown in. I have this idea. Childhood back then was basically simple. Play outside, roll up the newspaper and hit people, collect football stickers.
The thing is, though, I don’t want to give up any of my precious exchange collectibles. I do, however, dislike Manchester United very much because my classmates are the worst Glory supporters ever.
So, I waved goodbye to Merlin’s Premier League #56 Lee Sharpe sticker from 1993. I hope one day a kid will see your face and discover how you continue to host barbecues for your fans, in your own home.
So, with the health story of this world worthy of protection, welcome to iGamesNews The best gaming podcast ever, Episode 14: The best game where you’ll launch into space to prove that Earth isn’t worth saving. That segue was so serious, I’m sorry if it caused you a whiplash.
Be sure to let us know what you think of the show – if this is your first time listening, come back and listen to the previous episodes. If you have suggestions for topics, we’d love to hear them. If we don’t come up with some new ideas soon, we’ll have to create some kind of random topic generator – not a bad idea actually.
“What’s iGamesNews’s best gaming podcast ever?” you ask, wondering which football sticker you’d rather bury in a time capsule. Or LOL Surprise Stickers, whatever you choose to collect. Anyway, this podcast, which is why you’re on this page (not to have impossible choices in your head), is essentially a 30-minute panel show where people (me and a few others on iGamesNews ) determines the best game for a particular category. That’s it. very good. listen to this.
We’ve included some details on the show’s content below (if you want to review for a great, thoughtful post before heading to the review, or don’t want to hear but want to know which games we’ve picked), so if you want to avoid Spoilers, please don’t scroll through what this fan-made Chris Blatt looks like after being launched into space. The best game you’ll launch into space to prove that Earth isn’t worth saving
This is the subject of episode fourteen of iGamesNews’s Best Gaming Podcast Ever. Here’s a rundown of who chose what.
Tom – most Roblox games
Roblox is full of mindless games designed to encourage in-game spending to achieve arbitrary goals. Most games, like Strongman Simulator, have very little other than repeated button presses. This is extremely tedious and an example of how we don’t deserve to play video games.
Alex – Gaelic Gun
I didn’t even embed a video for this. Just listen to us talk about it on the podcast and you’ll see why. Maybe don’t do it on a work computer if you google it.
Conor – Detroit: Become Human
Detroit: Become Human is a game that makes me very, very sad. I don’t understand how Quantic Dreams got away with it. Every time they release a game, you get a visually impressive product with a few nuggets of gold in it, only to be washed away by the most hated writing and narrative direction in the world. But they keep coming back! Somehow, big names like Clancy Brown (voice of Mr. Crabs) are doing so well in the so-so game.
It’s a perfect example of missed potential and countless opportunities for people I don’t think should have. If you launch it into space and the aliens get it, they’ll probably be very disappointed with it all and drift off toward an exploding sun, or comet, or a million other things that are more interesting.
