The games industry has been hit by constant reports of studio closures in recent months. Almost not a week goes by without layoffs or the complete end of game companies that have existed for years. The founding of the iii initiative is all the more refreshing.
Nobody knows exactly what the III initiative is about. Whether the association of various game companies now acts as a publishing studio or develops its own titles is just as unclear as the broader orientation in terms of genres and quality standards. At least we have very little use for the term “Triple I”.

At least the information about who belongs to the iii initiative brings some light into the darkness. The studios behind Darkest Dungeon, Risk of Rain, Slay the Spire, Vampire Survivors, V Rising and more are involved in the collective.
If we now scratch our crystal ball, we can at least make the following assumption: The iii initiative is an association of well-known indie studios that have made it their mission to distribute titles with high quality standards to the people, far away from the big publishers bring – triple indie. But that’s just our pure guess.
At least the homepage, which is still not very informative, teases an initial announcement. This should therefore take place on March 28, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. German time.
