Thanks to the Game Awards 2022, shooter fans have several reasons to be happy, because several new genre representatives were officially announced. One of them, for example, is Immortals of Aveum, which is created under the EA Originals label.
As part of a partnership with developer Ascendant Studios, Electronic Arts has announced the release of the new shooter Immortals of Aveum under the EA Originals label. The makers work with several developers who have previously worked on various titles that have won BAFTA and Game of the Year awards. With Immortals of Aveum, they are now delivering their debut title under a new flag.
The game aims to be an innovative and magical single-player shooter played from a first-person perspective. The focus is on a campaign that is gripping and, according to its own statements, cinema-ready. The setting is a completely new fantasy universe that you don’t know from any other title. This is filled with magic, but is also shaped by conflicts.
Commenting on the announcement, Game Director Bret Robbins said: “I’ve served as creative director on four major games in a row – the first Dead Space and three Call of Duty titles – and had the amazing opportunity to start my own studio and build an incredible team who I get to work with on a day-to-day basis. I founded Ascendant Studios to create new and spectacular games. Here we are, four years later and about to finish our first game. What started out as a crazy idea has become a reality developed into an AAA game that is as insane as it is exciting. I chose EA as our publishing partner because we are confident that EA will help us bring Immortals of Aveum to the widest possible audience. I am delighted that EA chose us backed with expertise and resources and I can’t wait for everyone to play!”
Immortals of Aveum is scheduled for release in 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC; there is no specific release date yet.
