Level, build, dominate.these are forza motorsport Reboot, a game that wants you to develop a relationship with each car, rather than simply buy it and forget about it after one race.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg of what Turn 10 is aiming for with the new game, which the developer showed off well in an expanded look at the career mode.

Is that enough jumping?

The Constructors Cup is where it all started, the new career mode. As you’d expect from a Forza game, the Builders Cup is made up of different playlists. Each has a specific theme, or focuses on a particular era, body type, design, etc. Turn 10 means the playlist will be updated with new tracks and new cars.

Unfortunately, this also means that career mode is always online, and you won’t be able to make any progress offline. While some modes are available offline, the Builders Cup (the main mode) will require a constant internet connection.

Creative director Chris Esaki confirmed this fact during the latest Forza Monthly stream. While Forza is new, the career mode’s need for a constant internet connection is something other racing sims have, such as Gran Turismo 7.

Where it gets a little fun/wild is in the advancement of the cars. Car Mastery is an effective car leveling system where your car earns XP at every corner of the track. The idea is that you’re building familiarity with the car, and making a connection.

When it comes to building cars, each car has an allotment of points that you can use to upgrade its performance in any way you want and nudge it toward a particular style. The higher your car tier, the more points you earn and the more upgrades you can make.

Forza Motorsport launches October 10 on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
