Last Oasis mixes up the survival MMOs with mechs

Last Oasis especially wants to stand out from other survival MMOs with its base construction. Your home is not firmly anchored to the floor here, it can simply run away with its own wooden legs! Because instead of buildings you build a mech. Now the early access phase of the game starts on Steam.

With your vehicle you explore as a nomad procedurally generated end time areas a dying world in third person and fight together or alone against other players. The clashes take place on foot, especially in close combat. You can also equip your running base with firearms.

You can see what that looks like in the trailer embedded above and in the following screenshot gallery:

The journey to the east

In the world of Last Oasis, the west is literally burned by the sun, so you always have to travel east, to escape the danger. However, this area is not exactly lively, but is mostly buried under ice. Only in the biomes in between – where there are also forests and deserts – can you collect important resources for your survival.

But the climate is not the only threat. Because in addition to the strong temperature fluctuations, there are also hostile creatures like huge sand worms, which above all pose a danger to your self-built machines.

Another specialty is the vertical one Locomotion using a grappling hook, which should mainly depend on the personal skill of the player. Those who have mastered this tool can swing through the woods like Spider-Man and even detach fast 'Mechs.

What do the players think of Last Oasis?

With the first Steam reviews, the game came to an overall rating of "Very positive". 73 percent of the reviews recommend the title. The fighting machines and the melee system reminiscent of Mount & Blade are often highlighted.

What is bothering users? In addition to technical problems such as crashes and low frame rates, negative opinions also criticize griefing. So that high-ranking players sometimes hunt for beginners and soloists in groups.

Last Oasis’s early access phase is expected to last between one and two years. Currently the title normally costs 25 euros. Until April 3, however, it is available at a reduced price for around 21 euros. In the course of development, the price should rise as soon as the game has been expanded.
