Without a doubt, the billboard of premieres of this 2023 is being an absolute madness. Although we have already been able to enjoy many movies such as Super Mario Bros or Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, there are still many premieres to hit the big screen. One of the most anticipated is Indiana Joneswhich once again returns to theaters around the world with The Dial of Fate.
The fifth installment of the most famous archaeologist in cinema aims to return to the essence that we loved so much about the first films, with a full-length action film and a feeling of adventure that we lost in the fourth installment. Very recently we were able to enjoy a new preview of the film, but also, thanks to the medium Collider
Thanks to the current head of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedywe have learned that The Dial of Fate will be the longest movie in the entire Indiana Jones franchise: 2 hours and 22 minutes. This number exceeds by almost 20 minutes the record that this saga had established with The Last Crusade, which reached 2 hours and 7 minutes.
Kennedy conceded that the growing adoration for “full-length storytelling” in adventure films might have contributed to this decision in the film. However, he commented that not all movies have to be super-long and that, in general, the length almost always comes down to whether the story they are telling really deserves to be told with a more relaxed pace and, therefore, with more minutes of footage
It seems that this last film will do it and will have breathers for the viewer in the midst of crazy and frenetic scenes. However, this does not seem to be very heavy knowing that the pure essence of this franchise is not its narrative power but its feeling of adventure. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Fate will hit theaters around the world next June 20, 2023.
