Indiana Jones: The Grand Circle will reportedly come to PS5 shortly after its initial release as a timed exclusive later this year. That’s right, this game about exploring tombs, punching Nazis, and doing the same things in reverse order could very well be part of Xbox’s new strategy starting in 2024 as the next cross-platform game.

According to podcaster and industry insider Nate The Hate, Machine Games’ whiplash adventure will only run exclusively on Xbox for a short while before being boulder-hunted over to PS5 as well.

“MachineGames’ Indiana Jones: The Grand Circle will release on Xbox and PC this Holiday (December) as a timed exclusive,” they wrote on Twitter. “Following this timed exclusivity window, Indiana Jones: The Grand Circle is scheduled to come to PlayStation 5 in the first half of 2025.” Their statement seems to match up with a report from The Verge in February of this year, which stated that Microsoft was considering bringing Indiana Jones: The Grand Circle to PS5 “a few months after” its release and following the short exclusivity window outlined in the article.

Considering the timing of this latest announcement, and the fact that Geoff Keighley has already confirmed that Indiana Jones and the Grand Circle will be live at Gamescom Opening Night on August 20, coupled with Xbox’s presence throughout the show, it’s natural that speculation is brewing that Indiana Jones’ plans for PS5 could be announced during the event. As of now, though, nothing has been confirmed, so don’t get too excited unless/until an official confirmation is announced.

Assuming Indy does make that leap, it would follow games like Grounded, Sea of Thieves, Hi-Fi Rush, and Pentiment, all of which are already headed to PS5, Switch, or both, depending on Xbox’s plans.

That said, it’s clearly more ambitious than those very good games, so it represents a big step forward in Xbox’s plans to bring more of its hit games to multi-platform territory.
