Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, scheduled for December, wants to reach the 60 fps mark on both the Xbox Series X and the weaker Series S.

Slowly but surely things are getting serious for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, another potential year-end blockbuster. The iconic archaeologist’s latest adventure is scheduled for release in December, so optimization work is also nearing completion. So how will the title run technically on the Xbox consoles, since the weaker Xbox Series S often proves to be a bottleneck?

In the case of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, the development team at Machine Games wants the action-adventure to run at 60 fps on both the Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S. The frame rate shouldn’t be a problem here, as Creative Director Axel Torvenius now emphasizes in an interview.

“We will announce more details about the specific implementation and technical data as we get closer to launch, once we have all the performance data. But what I can tell you right now is that we have the ambition for the title “It should run smoothly at 60 fps on both Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S,” said the creative director.

For owners of a Series S, this is initially good news, after all, the cheaper Microsoft console did have one or two problems when it came to current titles.

You can read what else the title promises in our current Indiana Jones and the Great Circle preview. The game will initially be released on December 9, 2024 for PC and Xbox Series X/S, with a PS5 version expected to follow in early 2025.
