Warning: Spoilers for Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Ring ahead.

Indiana Jones and the Circle is a lot of fun, at least in part because its Nazi bad guys sometimes say hilarious things. Everyone saw Ganz yelling in the movie trailer released ahead of Ex Machina's release, but main villain Emmerich Voss has some equally wacky lines.

For example, toward the end of the adventure, when it's clear that he and Indy are about to have their final conflict, Voss reveals that he's not one to be trifled with because he's trained in karate. Or, as he pronounces it: karaaaaaaa-teehhhhh. Let's face it, there's a good chance he's got the pronunciation right and we're all wrong, but the point is still divine.

Voss continues to give the not-quite-Harrison Ford punch a taste of wrath, and he's not bluffing—he's a martial artist. However, the actor who plays him, Marios Gavrilis, has now revealed that not only did he not have to actually learn karate as part of the role, but he's actually glad he didn't.

can you hear it? This is where thousands of pretentious method actors are rolling in their graves.

“Thank God I didn't go through this,” the actor tweeted in reply to a fan who asked how long he'd been training in the art of the Indy Kick. “Otherwise we wouldn't have finished. But we did Great stuntman.”

But that doesn't mean Gavrillis didn't put his talents to the test, because in the same thread, he told others that he did a monkey impression on Voss during a scene with Ganz. Touching.

As you'd expect given the cinematic look it's going for, Indy sounds like it's basically going to be a complete movie-style shoot, as Gavrilis outlined in the “hot shot” tweet that kicked off his post That way. “‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ was done with motion capture (aka performance capture),” he writes, “capturing not just dialogue but our entire performance: our facial expressions, body movements, interactions, even our 's similarity is captured for each character.

“It was blocked out like a real movie, real film cameras were used, and we had stuntmen. The word 'voice actors' is misleading, it was a full acting gig. All your favorite actors. From your favorite games – if they include motion capture – are real actors.”

He won't face any resistance here – voice actors are actors, and the game wouldn't be as good without a wealth of voice talent to bring characters like Voss to life. Has Vos convinced you to learn karaaaaaaa-teehhhhh? Let us know below!
