Would Sucker Punch work on new PS5 games inFamous and Sly Cooper? A reputable source had claimed that the franchises would make a stunning return at the next PlayStation Showcase. These days developers leave no room for doubt.
No inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper in development
A new Sly Cooper and an inFamous for PS5 would be announced at Sony’s next major conference. This was notably confirmed by a supposedly reputable source leak Star Wars Eclipse. And yet it seems that theinsider gave the players false hopes. In one this Friday, April 1is July 2022, Sucker Punch ended the rumours.
As our games grow in size and complexity, they require the studio’s full attention. As we are fully focused on our current project, we currently have no plans to revisit inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper. Also, no other studio is working on projects related to these franchises. These characters are truly special and we care deeply about them. While we will never close the door on these licenses, there are currently no inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper games in development.
Sucker Punch actually seems to be busy with what Ghost of Tsushima 2 appears to be. The potential sequel to the studio’s successful new franchise is often mentioned again in job postings. Unfortunately, these statements will leave some disappointed people who were hoping for inFAMOUS to return to PS5. Never say never like the developers say, but it wouldn’t take many years.
