House of the Dragon: HBO already gives a glimpse behind the scenes of season 2
Story: How does the plot continue in season 2?
House of the Dragon takes place 200 years before Game of Thrones. The focus is on House Targaryen, which is driven into open civil war due to internal intrigues and power struggles. Here we have an overview of the entire Targaryen family tree.
After the death of King Viserys I, two parties are vying for power: Aegon II Targaryen sits on the throne in King’s Landing, while the official heir to the throne, Rhaenyra Targaryen, has been crowned queen on Dragonstone. Both parties are convinced of their legitimate claim to the Iron Throne. The Dance of the Dragons begins.
So the peace in season 2 is over and the War for the open succession finally erupts. The other houses in the kingdom are also forced to choose a side. Either Queen Rhaenyra (black Targaryens) or King Aegon (green Targaryens). It is therefore clear that Westeros will be drawn into a bloody conflict in season 2.
House of the Dragon is based on the novel »Fire and Blood: The Rise and Fall of House Targaryen« by George R. R. Martin.
