“Network” star Dakota Johnson continued to give one of the funniest press tours for a superhero movie in recent memory, taking a swipe at the risk-averse film industry.
The latest nugget comes from her recent interview with L’Officiel, in which she discusses her career, hopes for the future, and the current (horrible) state of Hollywood. She ditched her agency after the first trailer for Mrs. Weber was released, describing the film during an SNL appearance as “like an AI making the perfect movie for your boyfriend.” Ouch.

Johnson didn’t seem to care about the movie and knew it was going to be terrible, as her attacks on the Spider-Man-adjacent movie without Spider-Man only grew after she initially commented on how confused she was while filming. Have to do it more often.
Of the current state of the film industry, she told The Official: “It’s really heartbreaking. It’s so fucking hard. It’s so hard to make anything. Everything I’m interested in making is really hard.” Different, and it’s unique, and whatever it is, it’s very avant-garde…everyone who makes the decision is scared. They want to do safe things, and safe things are really boring. ” Of course, she’s 100% right, but her timing and boldness are still hilarious.
Ultimately, this feels like yet another case of a big actor looking to make extra money working on Marvel IP and making the mistake of getting into Sony’s pirated Marvel Universe instead of Marvel Studios’ Marvel Universe (which we believe is What happened to Matt Smith).
Before potential box office flops and endless internet memes and Mobius spam posts, the real question is: Are you brave enough to bring your special gift to your Valentine’s Day date and watch Mrs. Webber on the biggest screen?
