A new game with puzzles and sophisticated AI is being developed at Valve (and yes, the first fans are already dreaming of Half-Life 3, of course). The gameplay is said to be revolutionary – but what’s behind it? We summarize what is known through leaks and official information.
Info comes from Valve developers
Content creator Faizan Shaikh posted snippets of Valve employees’ LinkedIn profiles on Twitter. It talks about a previously unannounced game that has been in development since 2021. The profile information reveals a few more details, for example that there will be riddles and puzzles. The gameplay is said to be “ambitious” and “unprecedented” – of course, this is not explained in detail.

How believable is that?
The two LinkedIn profiles shown really exist, as we have verified ourselves. The information that the leaker posts is also exactly the same. These are the profiles of Michael Andersonwho was a level designer at Valve, and Boyang Zhuan artist at Valve who is primarily experienced with character models.
With novel riddles and puzzles lies a Portal 3 of course close – or a similar project like Half-Life: Alyx. But it could also be something else entirely, possibly Neon Prime, which is rumored to be a Dota spinoff and third-person shooter. There are numerous rumors about this title, nothing has been officially announced yet. However, Valve has already secured the trademark rights.
Classic third-person shooters are not necessarily known for their complex and innovative puzzles. As long as Valve can’t elicit anything, we can only speculate wildly. Maybe we can write the headline at some point: “Half-Life 3 announced” – one will probably still be allowed to dream.
