Interview with the Vampire Staffel 2: Startdatum
The second season of “Interview with the Vampire” will not be released in 2023 as previously expected. The new episodes will be released on 12. May 2024 to the US broadcaster AMC and the associated streaming service AMC+. It is currently unknown when the season will come to Germany.
Interview with the Vampire Staffel 2: Trailer
In the latest trailer for the second season of “Interview with the Vampire” we see more and more interview situations with Daniel Molloy, Louis and Armand. The love relationship between Armand and Louis comes into focus and Claudia’s jealousy.
A first trailer for the second season of “Interview with the Vampire” was released at San Diego Comic-Con 2023. In the video, Louis and Lestat meet again. We also get our first look at Claudia’s new actress.
Another trailer was presented at New York Comic-Con 2023 that shows Louis and Armand flirting. Meanwhile, Claudia is eating her stomach full of a massacre.
Interview with the Vampire Season 2: Plot
Like the film adaptation from 1994, the series tells the story of Louis de Pointe du Lac, who is condemned to eternal life by the vampire Lestat de Lioncourt. In the first seven-episode season, Louis tells journalist Daniel Molloy about his life in 1900s New Orleans, the creation of child vampire Claudia and his subsequent decades-long feud with Lestat.
It is already clear that the following second season will consist of eight episodes. The vampire trio will end up in Europe. In the trailers you can see that the vampires visit Paris and the Theater Des Vampires, where Louis meets Armand. The love story of Louis and Armand comes into focus.
When the renewal was announced, Interview with the Vampire showrunner Rolin Jones shared the following:
Bulgaria. Romania. Paris. (Ah Paris!) San Francisco. New Orleans. Dubai. The writing team of “Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire” is honored, humbled and hungry to put more stamps on our vampires’ passports. Praise our fearless network, we will strive not to screw it up.
Showrunner Rolin Jones
Not all of these places were visited in the first season. That’s because the first season doesn’t even cover everything that happened in Anne Rice’s first book. This means that the second season will take Louis, Claudia and Lestat to Bulgaria, Romania and Paris.
Vampires and Mayfair Witches: Will there be an Anne Rice crossover?
In addition to “Interview with the Vampire,” AMC is also working on a number of other Anne Rice adaptations, including “Mayfair Witches,” which stars Alexandra Daddario from “The White Lotus.”
A total of 18 titles were acquired by AMC, including three crossover novels. So it’s entirely possible that other iconic characters from Anne’s other books will appear in future seasons of Interview with the Vampire.
“Interview with the Vampire” Season 2: Cast
For the second season of “Interview with the Vampire” a large part of the cast will return to their roles. These include Jacob Anderson (“Game of Thrones”) as Louis de Pointe du Lac and Sam Reid (“The Newsreaders”) as Lestat de Lioncourt. Bailey Bass (“Avatar: The Way of Water”) will not be seen again as Claudia. The actress cited various unforeseen circumstances regarding her exit. From now on her role will be taken over by Delainey Hayles (“Holby City”).
Actor Ben Daniels will join the cast of the series in season 2. Daniels most recently starred in the Apple TV+ series “Foundation” alongside Lee Pace and Jared Harris. In “Interview with the Vampire” Season 2, the actor will take on the role of the vampire Santiago, who runs the “Théâtre des Vampires”.
“Breaking Bad” and “Suits” star David Costabile will also appear as a guest in season 2. He will play the role of Leonard, a TV personality who will have a falling out with Molloy (Eric Bogosian). Also appearing in the new episodes will be Roxane Duran (“Marie Antoinette”) as Madeleine and Bally Gill (“Slow Horses”) as Real Rashid.
“Interview with the Vampire” Season 2: Production
It has already been confirmed that Rolin Jones (“Perry Mason”) will again serve as showrunner for the second season. Mark Johnson (“Breaking Bad”, “Better Call Saul”) will also serve as executive producer again.
