In the future, messages can be completely deleted in iMessage without leaving any residue, as we know it from Whatsapp in the form of “This message has been deleted”.

Delete or change messages completely
With iOS 16 you can send messages in iMessage in the future Delete completely and without residue, or edit later and thus, if necessary, soften text passages written in affect. Many a relationship could probably still exist if Whatsapp also included this function long ago.
