iOS 17 simplifies QR code scanning with iPhone. The new update brings a small change that leads you faster to your goal.
- iOS 17 brings big and small improvements to the iPhone.
- Among other things, Apple has revised the scanning of QR codes.
- In the future it will be easier to open the stored link in the camera app.
With iOS 17, Apple presented the next operating system for the iPhone at its developer conference WWDC in early June. It will be released in the autumn together with the iPhone 15. The big update brings welcome new features, including quite inconspicuous small improvements.
Among other things, scanning QR codes becomes a little easier. It used to be like this: You scan a code with your cell phone and the link to the content appears as a yellow button below the viewfinder inside the camera. When moving the smartphone, the viewfinder and button also move, so hitting the button is not always easy.
The manufacturer has apparently also recognized this problem and is improving implementation. On iOS 17, the link button now appears at the bottom of the camera screen and does not move when the camera lens moves.
Want to try the new feature for yourself without having to wait until fall? The first public beta of iOS 17 for volunteer testers will be released in July. We explain how to install them in the linked article.
