In September it was announced that EA Motive is working on a new game based on the Marvel superhero Iron Man. Production now seems to be picking up speed.
EA Motive should have collected a lot of points lately. First the fairly compelling Star Wars: Squadrons, then the excellent Dead Space remake – things are going well at the studio. One might almost forget that in September it was announced that an Iron Man game was in an early development phase.
in one AMA on Reddit EA Motive has now commented on both Dead Space and Iron Man. It confirmed again that EA Motive would like to continue working on the Dead Space brand, but that any decisions will only be made after a well-deserved break.
It is interesting, however, that another team at EA Motive has now apparently seriously started production of Iron Man and the game is in great hands. Hopefully that bodes well, as we haven’t heard much from the Iron Man game yet. Only that it should be a single-player action-adventure from the third-person perspective and should be created under the hands of Olivier Proulx, once the producer of the extremely fun but unfortunately poorly sold Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.
It shouldn’t stay that way, because shortly after the announcement of Iron Man it was announced that EA seems to have a long-term partnership with Marvel in mind, which should include at least three future games. Which superheroes we will see in it is still completely in the stars – apart from Iron Man, EA has not yet specifically named any other titles.
