Although we don’t know much about the next game from the Gears license, we suspect that something is happening with such job postings.
In the world of video games, a job posting is a great way to get a lot of information about upcoming projects. And it may well be that a very new from you could hint at the future of the Gears saga. In fact, the Canadian studio The Cohalition is looking for a technician specializing in motion capture.
6th gear on the way?
The title is pretty clearly “Motion Capture Technician – Gears of War – The Coalition” and the description leaves little to be doubted:
The Coalition is a Microsoft development studio based in Vancouver, Canada. We are the official license house Gears of War, and our goal is to shape the future of intellectual property and push the boundaries of Microsoft entertainment platforms and devices. Our team is made up of talented creatives and engineers from across the industry and beyond, who work together to delight our fans and exceed expectations of what’s possible.
Small details
The announcement also talks about the Unreal Engine 5 and surprise, The Coalition announced last year that it would run several of these new games under the famous Unreal Engine 5 engine. So obviously it may be a different Gears game than Gears 6 itself, but there’s still a good chance the long-awaited title is on the way.
We’ll just have to wait for the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase on June 12 to hope to learn more.
