Xbox Recent in-depth research Indiana Jones and the Circle Maybe even secretly making fun of it Quake 6but you almost definitely shouldn’t get your hopes up.
Earlier this week, Xbox held its first developer head-to-head showcase of the year, which focused on details about a handful of games. Each game has some gameplay cross-cut with interview footage filmed in the respective developer’s offices, including the final game of the night, Indiana Jones and the Circle. But as one user on Resetera discovered, there was one particular moment in the Indiana reveal that seemed to tease Quake 6.
We should definitely take this with a grain of salt. At around 44 minutes and 44 seconds in the video above, a whiteboard appears with some puzzle diagrams that appear to be from Indiana Jones. But on the left side of the frame, slightly out of focus, you can see the text “ake 6” in all caps. You can also see the iconic Quake symbol just below it, so there’s no doubt it’s Quake 6 throughout. If you’re wondering “Wait, when did Quake 5 happen?”, add some context. Quake Champions is considered Quake 5 internally, even though it’s not officially numbered.
This is unlikely to be a mistake, partly because a lot of time went into this display and it’s likely to be brushed off once people start noticing. Also, it’s a little weird to have “Quake 6” written on a whiteboard next to some puzzle design for a completely separate game – the only way that would happen is if some executive came in, wrote it down, and then View the rest of the developers as if they are geniuses. You know, it’s believable in this case, although still unlikely.
It’s also possible that this is just some kind of inside joke that none of us know the background to, which might seem a bit mean to Quake fans, but regardless, if it’s true, it could be a while before it’s officially revealed. After all, they seem to have only one name. In the meantime, you can always look forward to Indiana Jones and the Big Circle , silly name or not, set to hit theaters later this year.
