inXile Entertainment, The development studio behind wasteland Series and Torment: The Wave of Numenella, Has called its next game FPS RPG.
The studio dropped hints about its next project in its reply Xbox tweets yesterday. Xbox account asks “Which game should I play next?” inXile answer “Pull NEW + FPS + RPG.”
This is certainly not the most powerful joke in the world, but it gives us some insight into the state of the studio’s first Unreal Engine 5 game. InXile was acquired by Microsoft in 2018 along with Obsidian, so it is safe to say that the title will be exclusive to the Xbox console when it appears.
When can we hear more about the content produced by Microsoft Studios? Well, considering the release time of this kind of trailer, we can hear more news about this game during E3 2021, and there is a reason.
InXile has previously released smaller releases, but now that it releases games under the protection of Microsoft, we may see larger releases from the studio.
We haven’t seen the features that Unreal 5 really has, but we do know that The Coalition is also using the technology to develop its next game. Does this indicate that Microsoft studios are using the Epic engine more widely? It seems this is indeed the case.
This is not the only first-person role-playing game in Microsoft’s work, because sister studio Obsidian is also working on Avowed.
If you want to know what the inExile project feels like, you can now use Wasteland 3 on Xbox One and PC via Xbox Game Pass. Its first expansion film “Battle of Steeltown” will be released on June 3.
