Oops, it sounds like The Witcher season 4 will feature more new faces, with the actor behind Vesemir reportedly being replaced as well.
We’ve known for a long time (two years, in fact) that when The Witcher season 4 hits theaters sometime next year, Henry Cavill won’t be playing the one and only Geralt of Rivia; Liam Hemsworth. This choice didn’t sit well with fans, as a lot of people really liked Cavill’s portrayal of the Witcher, but hey, what can you do? For the most part, the casting has seemed to remain the same, with some new talent set to join as new characters for next season, but according to Redanian Intelligence , there’s another character being recast: Geralt’s mentor Visser Mir.

The outlet reports that Vesemir will return in Season 4, but the actor who plays him, Kim Bodnia, will not return to play him. It’s unclear why this recast is happening, and apparently it hasn’t been officially announced yet – Redanian Intelligence also doesn’t know who will take over the role, so I guess we’ll all just have to wait for confirmation from Netflix/the emergence of a trailer revealing what might be Who is.
While The Witcher 4’s cast and release date may still be up in the air, you’ll be able to see Geralt again soon. A new clip from the animated film The Witcher: Siren of Abyss was released last month, and with it came confirmation of a delay, but also a specific release date of February 11, 2025. It’s also a good thing it’s coming so quickly, who knows when The Witcher 4 will be released (hint: it might be a while yet).
