After we were able to play Age of Wonders 4 in the preview for several hours at a time, we are now all the more looking forward to the final release. Because the turn-based strategy game will be anything but a successor according to scheme F!
But before it finally starts on May 2nd, the developers are now revealing more about their DLC plans after the release: In addition to the standard version for around 50 dollars, there is also a premium edition for 90 dollars, which, in addition to cosmetic additions, also includes the expansion Pass with four additional content included.
We list which addons and content packs Triumph Studios and Paradox have planned:
- Dragon Dawn (Q3 2023, unit price 10 dollars): A DLC pack centered around magical pangolins and their draconic magic, featuring a new dragon ruler type, reptilian form, and new spellbooks.
- Empires & Ashes (Q4 2023, unit price 20 dollars): Expansion centered on devastating war machines, featuring a new culture, new spell books, new empire building options, and a new story realm.
- Primal Fury (Q1 2024, unit price 10 dollars): Primeval powers and the nature-loving Fey realms take center stage in this DLC pack, which includes new types of wildlife, creatures, and resources.
- Eldritch Realms (Q2 2024, single price 20 dollars): The final Lovecraftian-style expansion opens portals to strange realms filled with new monsters, arcane realms, and unlocks new racial forms.
In addition, an archmage outfit is also included in the premium version. This cosmetic pack contains a three-piece Archmage’s outfit that you can mix and match with other in-game items. Another outfit is available as a pre-order bonus on all versions of the game.
