After a delay in its launch, Genshin Impact’s biggest rival yet seems to be preparing a little surprise for PlayStation players.
The HoYoverse machine seems unstoppable. Building on the success of Genshin Impact, the Chinese publisher has brought its know-how to two other productions. The space fantasy game Honkai Star Rail is still captivating millions of players, while Zenless Zone Zero, released a few days ago, is already a real hit. HoYo has paved the way for a whole series of free games that try as best they can to follow in its footsteps. Many have failed, but there is one that is enjoying a little success at the moment: Wuthering Waves. A title that is only available on mobile and PC, but that should change soon.
Genshin Impact’s rival would soon be released on PS5 and PS4
Kuro Games announced long before the release that its game would be coming to PlayStation. Since then, console gamers have not received any news about this port, but an announcement is in the pipeline. Perhaps the indecent success of Zenless Zone Zero and its around 50 million players in just two days has something to do with it, but Genshin Impact’s strongest competitor would be coming to PS5 and PS4 very soon. The wait for PS5 and PS4 players should therefore not be too long, even if they will be leaving a little late. Gatcha is fulfilling the wish, the rival of Genshin Impact has already provided several characters and short-lived content. Perhaps “Wuthering Waves” will include all the banners so far when the PlayStation versions are released? See you in a while to find out.
As a reminder, in Wuthering Waves you play as Nomad, an amnesiac character who wakes up in the heart of a post-apocalyptic world struck by catastrophe. Equipped with special powers, your avatar has the ability to absorb defeated monsters to use their abilities. As with Genshin Impact, there are quests, events, and a whole host of companions to recruit (if you’re lucky).
