“Alien: Romulus” director Fede Alvarez, known for his work on “Evil Dead” (the remake) and “Don’t Breathe,” says he came up with the idea of following a group of young colonists after seeing one discovered a deleted scene from “Aliens”. The director explains that he worked a lot with Ridley Scott, even went so far as to discuss the film’s early intentions and provided him with the script to discuss what could be improved. “That’s why I consider each of these moments and each of these creative conversations with Ridley to be a highlight of my career and my life” he agrees.
James Cameron also had his say on “Alien Romulus”.. “He saw the film and loved itAlvarez explains, explaining that the Aliens father’s comments were completely different than Ridley Scott’s. “Whatever Ridley said, Cameron said something different. These were very intelligent thoughts about the film and directing. The fantastic thing (…) is the opportunity to work with them“.
