Six years after the Borderlands series’ first foray into episodic and narrative format, Tales from the Borderlands returns this year. Small peculiarity, this sequel will no longer be in the hands of Telltale Games.

The rumors were true. A while ago it was rumored that the adventures of Rhys and Fiona would get a sequel from Telltale Games. We know the fate of the studio that has finally come back from the dead to work on The Wolf Among Us 2 and new projects. However, the creators of The Walking Dead Game have been relieved of this sequel.
This Thursday, April 21st, Gearbox confirmed that a new Tales from the Borderlands will be coming in 2022. However, Telltale is no longer monitoring the project. This new version is actually being developed internally at Gearbox. The return of the Borderlands universe into a narrative adventure will therefore do without the characters from the previous episode. Company CEO Randy Pitchford has confirmed there will be a whole new cast, but nothing rules out crossing paths with familiar faces. It has to be said that we’d love to see the return of Fiona, who is set aside in Borderlands 3.

We expect this Tales from the Borderlands 2 to be announced in a good and proper way with a trailer, information and key images. For now we’ll have to settle for a simple teaser and dissect the mysterious silhouettes of the new protagonists.
