DC Studios he continues to expand his list of projects as the weeks go by. After recently learning more details about the development of Lanterns, a new project has now been revealed that has captured the attention of fans of the franchise.
As announced James Gunn after a leak of VarietyDC Studios is working on an animated film starring two of the most iconic Robins from the Batman saga: Dick Grayson y Jason Todd. The film will be titled The Dynamic Duoalthough this name could be provisional.
It will be an origins film, which will tell how these two characters come together during their early years as orphan thieves trying to make their way in Gotham. James Gunn and Matt Reeves are listed as the producers of the project, although it seems that it will be a film independent of the universes that both directors are developing.
On the one hand, Reeves has made it clear that the film will not be set in the universe of The Batman. Although Gunn has not commented anything on the matter, everything indicates that this version of the characters will not appear in the new era of DC, since it was confirmed that the Robin that we will see in this universe will be Damian Wayne.
As for the animation, the studio in charge will be Swaybox, known for its innovative combination of CGI, stop-motion and live action. This promises to offer a visually unique adaptation. The film is currently in the early stages of production and a release date has yet to be announced.
