Jim Carrey will return as Dr. Robotnik Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
If you’ve seen Sonic the Hedgehog 2, you know that things didn’t end well for the mustachioed menace. But if you happen to stick around, the post-credits scenes contain suspenseful moments involving the mad scientist, paving the way for his return in the third film.

Returning cast members include Idris Elba (“Knuckles”), James Marsden (“Tom”), Ben Schwartz (“Sonic”) and Colleen O’Shaughnessy (“Sonic”) Tail”).
Other cast members include Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Crystal Fernandez (Ted Russo), Sofia Pernas (Blood and Treasure), Ella Brown (Three Thousand Years of Longing) , James Walker (Harley Quinn) and Jorma Taccone (McGruber), among others.
The upcoming action-adventure game based on the SEGA video game series will pick up the aftermath of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and will feature Shadow the Hedgehog in a post-credits scene.
Hayden Christensen is rumored to be voicing Shadow the Hedgehog in the film.
According to Variety, director Jeff Fowler will also return, and the film will be produced by Neal H. Moritz, Toby Asher, Toru Nakahara and Hitoshi Okuno.
Plans for a third Sonic movie were announced in February 2022, with filming to begin in July 2023. It is expected to be released on December 20.
The Sonic movie was extremely popular, grossing $870.8 million at the box office.
