It’s time for John Wick have a video game at the height of the character. It’s not that he hasn’t gone through consoles and PCs, there we have John Wick Hex and he was one of the first guests in Fortnite, but it is clear that there is material for something much bigger. Jon Feltheimer, head of Lionsgate, is fully aware of this and anticipates that the study is weighing the proposals in the face of plans.
Feltheimer’s statements are not words in the wind, but are born from the most recent meeting of investors of Lionsgate Films. A difficult one, since the rebranding of Starzplay a Lionsgate+ Finish in a debacle with a million dollar bill and the departure of the streaming platform of the Spanish grill.

The first foray of John Wick in video games came from the hands of Starbreeze Studios, and the truth is that development began in record time: in the summer of 2015, months after the premiere of the first film, an alliance between the studio and Lionsgate was announced that will finally reach Virtual Reality systems in 2017 through John Wick Chronicles.
Since then, countless nods to the Reeves character have been included in tons of video games, officially licensed and fan-created skins, and the aforementioned John Wick Hex, a strategic action game that showed us Wick’s life before the movies. With good ideas, of course, but without that display of pure Hollywood action that distills the film saga.
The premiere of the fourth film, John Wick: Chapter 4, is officially scheduled for March 2023. And the fifth is already underway.
From here it is time to fantasize about who would be the perfect studio to develop the project and take advantage of the license. If it’s a Triple A, the first names that come up are Electronic Arts, Ubisoft o Square Enix when making powerful adaptations. Even the creator of Mortal Kombat likes the idea of bringing it to his saga. But, as we mentioned, it is already getting into the field of speculation.
In any case, if John Wick manages to make the leap to video games with a blockbuster, we will welcome him with open arms. And if it is with the image of Keanu Reeves, even more so.
