The heroes of the Japanese edition know it all too well: Some careers at Weekly Shōnen Jump can be shorter than others. Despite the open camaraderie shown in Jump Force, Bandai Namco’s crossover is close to being eliminated.
In its great tradition of harnessing the synergies of the forces present, the Japanese publisher therefore used the 50th anniversary of the mythical pre-release magazine to bring out Jump Force, a concentrate of heroes who have written some of its most beautiful pages. But here it is: Casting like this costs money, a lot of money. Therefore, three years after its first release, the catch-all fighting game will be eliminated.
Chapter 519
Take out the handkerchiefs and shed your most beautiful crocodile tears (the ones from One Piece, CQFD): Bandai Namco today announced that Jump Force will be deprogrammed for February 8th, almost three years to the day after its Japanese publication.
On his official page, the editor explains his decision:
Everyone at Bandai Namco Entertainment would like to sincerely thank all Jump Force players for their years of support. Today we announce the end of the availability of the game in its digital version. The Jump Force game, its DLC, and virtual currency purchases will no longer be accessible in Europe starting February 8, 2022 at 2 a.m.
To avoid jealousy, all versions (PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One) are affected. But that’s not all, as the servers close at 7am at home on August 25th., and the days of our hot-blooded heroes are numbered. Bandai Namco describes the list of content that is made as inaccessible as Akira Toriyama:
- Register in the multiplayer lobby
- Online events
- Clan functions
- Viewing the bulletin board
- Counseling rankings
- Access to the rewards counter
- Online shop
- Boutique premium
- Online game with rank
So there are only offline matches and non-ranked matches left to keep the Jump Force legacy alive. But do you really want that? Given the final judgment of ours Birthday child At home, nothing is less certain …
For those who want to continue to campaign to preserve the video gaming legacy, keep in mind that Jump Force will be available on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, and online through February 8, 2022. How do you say it? Oh yeah : matta ne !
