The PlayStation Plus Essential June 2023 ‘free’ games have been officially released. A better selection than last month? Here is the program.
PS Plus Extra and Premium will soon be blowing out their first candle. In June 2022, Sony launched two new formulas that compete directly with Xbox Game Pass. But it’s not about changing good old habits. The Essential offer always allows for the recovery of three monthly “free” games, which are always announced on the Wednesday before they are made available. So it’s the big day and the PS Plus games for June 2023 have been officially announced.

Sony’s response to Xbox Game Pass is starting to t ake shape. Within a year, the Japanese publisher was able to transform its service thanks to its two new formulas. If Extra and Premium plan subscribers can take advantage of a growing catalogue, the manufacturer doesn’t forget about its trio of monthly games either. Many feared that this PS Plus Essential would lose its luster in favor of new offerings, but little by little PlayStation was able to dispel their doubts. In fact, for now, despite a few less significant months, the publisher regularly offers a solid selection. The last month has been particularly divisive due to a lack of major mainstream AAAs. So who will succeed GRID Legends, Chivalry 2 and Descenders? The PS Plus Essential games for June 2023 are now known.
From June 6 to July 4, 2023, subscribers can therefore snag a new trio made up (for a change) of a sports sim, a simulation game highly appreciated by the community, and an independent production that has had little success. A selection that will not appeal to everyone:

- Hike to Yomi
A solid choice that won’t please everyone
Only Jurassic World Evolution 2 stands out as one of the highest quality in the June 2023 PS Plus picks. In this management game you have to create and manage your own dinosaur park just like in the movies. And the special thing about it is that it takes the characters and creatures from all the feature films, even the last ones with Chris Pratt. A real critical success that resonated with fans of the genre. NBA 2K23 is aimed at fans of the discipline. A very appreciated and high quality title that seduced by its graphic revision, its animations, its Jordan Challenge or its novelties in MyNBA mode. Only Trek to Yomi wasn’t completely convincing. Incorrectly compared to Ghost of Tsushima, this action/platformer game is more like a playable samurai movie. A true ode to films of yesteryear.
