The hack-and-slash genre has long been dominated by Blizzard’s big name in the genre, Diablo, but with the release of the first Path of Exile in October 2013, fans of the genre were able to find a new contender for the title. Grinding Gear Games is today gearing up to release the sequel to its flagship game, simply titled Path of Exile 2.
Expected on 15 November Path of Exile 2 will face the difficult task of continuing and improving the formula of one of the most popular modern hack & slash games. In fact, the first Path of Exile was a huge success for New Zealand developers Grinding Gear Games, who released the first game in 2013 and announced the sequel in 2019. Originally intended as an extension, it became a full sequeland thus into a new game, the developers have since worked hard to ensure a good development of this sequel, although a release had to be postponed due to the pandemic.
