None of us expected someone like Keanu Reeves to appear in an animated short based on Armored Core, and the executive producer of “Secret Level” seems to be the most surprising of them all.
It was obviously a bit of a shock when Reeves was revealed in the first Secret Level trailer – he's a big-name actor after all, and even if he showed up in Cyberpunk 2077, I certainly wouldn't Think we'll see him in Cyberpunk 2077. Armored Core animated short. Interestingly, however, when the show's executive producer Dave Wilson was asked if there was a role for the actor, he thought it was just a joke. Wilson recently spoke with GamesRadar alongside Deadpool creator and director Tim Miller, and the two talked about what it was like having Reeves join the project.

“Although I had met him briefly, we had never worked with him before,” Miller shared. “He's a huge animation fan, he loves Blur [Studios] Talking to me about one movie, another movie entirely, he said, 'What I really want to talk about is love, death, and robots.' Can you tell me everything? I like animation.
“I said, ‘Well, we’re doing another thing. Do you want to be a part of it?’ And he said, ‘Yeah. I said, “Is there anything in particular you want to play?” ” He said, “No, make me the coach,” so I asked Dave, “If you cast Keanu Reeves in this show, what role would he play?” “At first, Dave thought I was joking about Keanu Reeves wanting to be on the show.”
Wilson himself went on to note that his memory was slightly different, being confused at first because Miller was “dictating into his phone” and getting a text message that said, “Hey, do we have anything for the piano?” I was like, ” What?” And then I realized, then, yeah, I don't believe it. “Keanu actually came, very late in the series, and we put all the art up on the walls,” Wilson shared. So there weren't that many episodes to cast, so I would start getting video actors from other people, and I said, 'Tim, I don't have any roles left. '”
Apparently, they have a pretty big role left that they managed to get Reeves to fill, and we'll get to see him in action soon as the show starts streaming next week on Prime Video in December No. 1 Batch Episode 10.
