Astro Bot’s various cameos and references have delighted many players, and it seems like there will be more to come.
Regardless, Astro Bot is essentially a love letter to past PlayStation games, though it does include a number of characters that aren’t exclusive to the platform (although often closely associated with it). There are a ton of cameos, from classics like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon to recent Sony blockbuster God of War. As spotted by VGC, the game’s credits list a number of thanks to developers like Konami and Sega, and more, for their respective appearances in Astro Bot. But oddly, there are a few games that don’t make cameo appearances in the game.

For example, Ubisoft is thanked in the credits for games like Assassin’s Creed, Beyond Good and Evil, and Rayman, but none of those games appear in Astro Bot in any form. The same is true for other games, like recent exclusives Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin, as well as classics Croc and Worms. It’s also worth noting that you can import four additional guest bots from Astro’s Playroom, but these four have nothing to do with the aforementioned games.
As VGC points out, there’s a good chance that this will come in the form of DLC, as Team Asobi plans to release some content in the form of new challenge levels and speedrun modes. It’s possible that these cameos were originally in the game but were cut for unspecified reasons, but it would be a bit strange for them to appear in the end credits. Regardless, though, the DLC is coming, so it’s an exciting prospect for those who also love the 100% platformer.
