Kena: Bridge of Spirits Coming to Steam soon, all platforms are getting a major Anniversary Update.
As revealed by IGN, the PS2-style action-adventure game is officially coming to Steam more than a year after its initial release on September 27. With it comes a sizable Anniversary Update, coming to PS4, PS5, and the Epic Games Store, which was previously a PC exclusive.
Players who want to experience the game again but have all abilities unlocked can do so now with the new Game+ mode, which will also include previously unlocked upgrades, outfits, decay, and more. The new mode also features redesigned and more challenging combat scenarios, including new enemies.
There are also some new stories in the game, although no details have been revealed beyond what was briefly shown in the Anniversary Update trailer.
A new type of equippable item, the Charm Stone, has also been added to the game, which provides various adjustments to Kaina’s stats and abilities.
There’s also another new game mode called Spirit Guide Trials, which features three new replayable challenge types called Obstacle Course, Wave Defenses, and Boss Reflects. Didn’t specify what these would entail, but we’ll probably assume that the obstacle course is what it says on the tin, Wave Defenses might see players face off against waves of enemies, and Boss Reflect might match the in-game Various boss battles.
Completing the Spirit Guide Trials also unlocks new outfits for Kaina, all based on the various characters she encounters throughout the story. Completing certain objectives will also unlock color changes for each outfit, or possibly some new charm stones.
Kena also has some new abilities to unlock, and the photo mode has been expanded with more options, so it sounds like there’s going to be a lot to do for those who’ve been wanting to get back into the game.
