A really sad day for fans not only of manga or anime, but for all those who appreciate good art. Kentaro Miura, one of the most influential mangaka of all time, He has passed away at the age of 54.

His most important work has been Berserk, which it was still in regular publication until today. Its influence on multiple authors and currents has been evident and one of the clearest examples is the saga of Dark Souls.

However, the first great tribute he receives in the world of video games comes from the MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV. The Square Enix title players have decided to get together, specifically lThe Dark Knights of the first expansion.

Several servers have been protagonists, with dozens of players lining up with one of the typical postures of Guts, the protagonist of Berserk. Greatswords have shone in Ul’Dah, one of the most relevant enclaves of Final Fantasy XIV. Many of the users have even placed small bonfires at their feet, as a sign of respect.

Servers like Balmung, Primal, Faerie or Midgardsormr have joined at this time, as a way of thanking Miura for her enormous influence in the medium. We will probably see other communities from other games join in condolences.

Here’s a better quality recording showing the full line of Dark Knights on the Balmung server from Final Fantasy XIV paying tribute to Miura-san. The participation is amazing. For those unfamiliar with FFXIV, the work of the Dark Knight and Guts share many similarities.
