Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is set to soon replace the RPG epic Baldur’s Gate III with a new record in the gaming industry. This is due to the sprawling script of the medieval epic.
Anyone who has played Baldur’s Gate III knows how epic the role-playing game from Larian Studios is. No wonder, because at release it had around 2 million words of dialogue and thus a huge script. The award-winning game also set the Guinness World Record for the longest script for a video game – but that could soon change.
The new medieval role-playing game Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is about to take the crown in this regard. Daniel Vavra from Warhorse Studios has now confirmed that the RPG sequel’s script has over 11,000 typical pages of screenwriting – and that ultimately equates to around 2.2 million words of dialogue. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II would therefore also surpass Baldur’s Gate III if it is finally released in this form.
Just to give you a different perspective on the matter: Around ten years ago, it was estimated that the massive Grand Theft Auto V had a script of 3,500 pages. So Kingdom Come: Deliverance II would surpass that by a lot.
Either way: The sequel will be an open-world role-playing game of epic proportions. Protagonist Henry of Skalitz explores a game world that is twice as big as that of the first part. There will be countless side quests that you can complete alongside the already long main story. The latter is expected to keep the average player busy for more than 50 hours.
