kingdom hearts 4 As part of the series’ 20th anniversary event, along with a brand new mobile game, it’s officially revealed.
Square Enix It’s been officially revealed that Kingdom Hearts 4 is in development, and boy hello it looks different than previous games.released a 7-minute long trailer showing it alongside a new mobile game called Kingdom Hearts: The Missing Link, but we’ll fix that in a minute. Also, spoiler warning for the ending of Kingdom Hearts 3 events, as the end of that game is necessary to understand the sequel.
The last time we saw Sora, he was in another version of Shibuya, Tokyo, which ended up being a city called Quadratum. In the trailer for Kingdom Hearts 4, we see a very realistic looking Sora waking up in an apartment in the same city wearing a brand new outfit. He is greeted by a character named Strelitzia, who also dies in the mobile game Union X.
Then a potentially ruthless giant emerges, and Sora rushes in as usual to save the day, albeit now with some new technology. Wearing his trusty keyblade, he uses a move that appears to be a hook from a sword chain, as well as a few other attacks. There’s plenty of wall running and jumping through collapsing building sections, and it’s as action-packed as you’d expect from a Kingdom Hearts game.
The trailer ends with Donald Duck and Goofy exploring a dark cave in search of someone. Then came the blue flames and someone asked the Disney duo where they were going. Since there’s only a Japanese trailer, it’s hard to tell, but it sounds like a Japanese voice actor from Hercules Hades, so considering he’s a sort of grim reaper, they’re probably looking for him.
Interestingly, a brand new mobile game called Kingdom Hearts: Missing-Link is also in development. This game will be set after the events of the previous mobile game Union X, but unlike previous 2D games, this game is completely 3D. It also seems to reuse the world from Kingdom Hearts 3, and you’ll have characters that are customizable and probably playable with others as well. There will also be a closed beta test later this year.
Besides, the ending Kingdom Hearts: Dark Road After initially expected to be released in winter 2021, it has been revealed that it will launch in August. It’s safe to say that today’s reveal was a real feast for Kingdom Hearts fans.
